 round steel square steel

Round steel belongs to carbon structural steel for construction and machinery, and square steel belongs to carbon steel for mechanical structure. The two are both simple cross-sectional steel, and their cross-sectional shapes are circular and square respectively.

The production and processing types of round steel are divided into three types: hot rolling, forging and cold drawing. The diameter of hot-rolled round steel is 5-250mm, and the diameter of 5-9mm is often used as raw material for drawing steel wire. Therefore, it is called wire rod, and because it is generally supplied in coils, it is also called hot-rolled wire rod. Forged round steel has a larger diameter and is generally used as a shaft blank. The diameter of cold-drawn round steel is 3-100mm, and the dimensional accuracy is required to be high.

The production and processing types of square steel are divided into two types: hot rolling and cold drawing. The side length of the hot-rolled square steel is 5-250mm, and the side length of the cold-drawn square steel is 3-100mm.

According to the carbon content and the corresponding use, the imported and exported round steel can be divided into two categories: low carbon round steel and medium carbon. Low carbon is mainly used as raw material for wire drawing, forging rivets, bolts, nuts and other metal products. Medium carbon round steel and square steel are generally used to make mechanical structural parts.
